The JVC DLA-NZ9 is a flagship 8K laser projector designed for premium screening rooms, high-end presentations and showcase events where picture quality really matters. It uses three native 4K D-ILA imaging devices (4096 × 2160) and JVC’s BLU-Escent laser light engine to deliver 3,000 lumens, with superb contrast and deep, natural blacks.
For modern sources, the NZ9 is built to handle high-bandwidth signals. It accepts 8K/60p and 4K/120p via two HDMI 2.1 inputs (48 Gbps, HDCP 2.3). JVC’s 8K/e-shiftX technology then displays an 8K-class image at 8192 × 4320, giving content a smoother, more refined pixel structure on large screens.
HDR performance is a major strength. The projector supports HDR10, HLG and HDR10+. Frame Adapt HDR dynamically tone maps HDR10 content scene by scene and frame by frame, and Theatre Optimiser helps tune performance to the room and screen, reducing the need for constant manual adjustment.
Colour performance is equally strong. The NZ9 supports DCI-P3 colour gamut and achieves 100% Rec.709, helping brand colours, skin tones and design work look rich, accurate and repeatable when the projector is properly calibrated.
Optics are built to match the imaging engine. The NZ9 uses a premium 100 mm all-glass lens with an 18-element, 16-group design in a full aluminium lens barrel. It includes motorised 2× zoom, focus and lens shift, with a throw ratio of 1.35–2.75:1 and lens shift of ±100% vertical and ±43% horizontal. Supported image sizes run from 60 to 300 inches, and a memory function with up to 10 user presets makes it easier to recall repeat set-ups.
